Mila Kunis wants fans to know she’s not a chicken thief.
The actress and her husband Ashton Kutcher filmed a Meerkat video on Wednesday to respond to bizarre allegations that she stole singer Kristina Karo’s pet chicken when they were both children growing up in Ukraine.
Karo filed the lawsuit in small claims court on Monday, according to People. She is seeking $ 5,000 to pay for therapy to deal with the loss of her childhood pet named Doggie, which she claims Kunis stole from her when she was only a month old.
“Upon arriving in the U.S. and seeing (Kunis) in person, more therapy was needed to due to emotional abuse,” she stated in her filing.
Kutcher and Kunis decided to have a little fun in response to the suit, with the “Two and a Half Men” star tweeting Wednesday that he was live-streaming a Meerkat interview with “Mila Kunis ‘chicken thief.’ ”
In their video, the couple react incredulously to the allegations.
“The girl has a music video coming out the same time that she’s suing you for $ 5,000 for the stolen chicken in the Ukraine,” the actor pointed out.
For her part, the “Black Swan” star pretended that she was “devastated” by the suit.
“I was weeping, I was dumbfounded,” she said. “I was like, which chicken did I steal?”
Kunis also poked fun by noting that she had watched Karo’s music video for a song called “Give Me Green Card.”
“I’d like to launch a counter $ 5,000 lawsuit for making me sit there and watch your music video,” the actress joked.
“My body hurts, my eyes hurt; they’re burning. That requires money.”
“No green card for you,” Kutcher added.
