Don't Just Live Your Life, Build It | Women Empowered

Screen-Shot-2013-04-10-at-1.36.28-PMFortune favors the brave, right? Well it really pays off for those who take risks when it comes to being creative about getting their ideas out there. We all know that the most successful innovators take great leaps of faith to start their companies: quitting school, taking a second mortgage or maxing out credit cards. It’s a scary idea, putting yourself in a risky situation to follow your dreams, but sometimes being a brave innovator also can just mean being willing to take the next step. Perhaps being a brave innovator doesn’t just mean being a risk taker, but rather being brave enough to allow yourself to follow your ideas, to not overthink, to take action, to build the life you want.

I’ve recently been inspired by all the strong women I see in the media, all taking risks by going against the grain. All these women are admirable because they’re brave enough to take action, to take that first step.

Ashton Kutcher, a now well-known entrepreneur and innovator said, “Don’t just live your life, build one.” Take his success as an example; he moved beyond what others think he can be (actor, model, comedian) and surprised us all by becoming a savvy investor and creator. But it wasn’t that he suddenly become smarter, it was that he decided to do something about it. Be brave enough to broadcast your innovations. Be willing to take the leap, no matter the outcome, because the worst you’ll ever hear is no
