For months and months before she was in rehab and during it, Lindsay Lohan told the world that she was attending the Venice Film Festival. The reason we know she said that was then you and me and the world said that sounded like a crap idea because there was no way she would be able to stay sober there. That reason didn't matter to her. She was going. Lindsay planned on spending at least three weeks in Venice and maybe even longer depending on how many guys she could meet.
When Lindsay got the lone positive review about The Canyons from Variety, did you hear her say she wasn't going? Nope. Lindsay was "humbled." It was only after every other negative review and the total bombing of the movie did she decide she wanted no part of it. But, even though it was a disaster, she still would have gone if they met her demands that she placed on the after she had agreed to go.
Now, Lindsay is telling the world she never confirmed to go and that her sobriety is the most important thing and that she would never have gone because her sobriety is most important to her. Uh huh. So, if the movie had made $100M and this was the first chance she would get to bask in the warm glow of praise, then she would also have stayed home? Not a chance.
